Knowledgeable technicians, accurate analyses and
prompt reporting are what clients expect when choosing a testing
laboratory. Allied's in-house asbestos and microbial laboratory
provides trustworthy and responsive analyses of:
- Bulk Asbestos: Analysis of asbestos content by
Polarized Light Microscopy (PLM) per EPA Interim Method for the
Determination of Asbestos in Bulk Insulation Samples (with
dispersion staining) - EPA Method 600/R-93/116.
- Airborne Asbestos: Analysis of the
concentration of asbestos fibers in air by Phase Contrast
Microscopy (PCM) per NIOSH Method 7400.
- Airborne Mold Spore Counting: Analysis of the
type (genus) and concentration of mold spores in air by direct
microscopic examination of non-culturable spore-trap samples.
- Surficial/Bulk Mold: Analysis of mold type
(genus) by direct microscopic examination of bulk mold samples and
tape-lift samples.
Allied's lab is a proficient participant in the AIHA
Bulk Asbestos Quality Assurance Program, also known as the Bulk
Asbestos Proficiency Analytical Testing (BAPAT) Program for
analysis by polarized light microscopy (PLM). Allied's
lab is also a proficient participant in the AIHA
Industrial Hygiene Proficiency Analytical Testing (IHPAT) Program
for analysis of fibers in air samples by Phase Contrast Microscopy
(PCM) NIOSH Method 7400. Allied microscopists have received
extensive training at the McCrone Research Institute in the
following specialties: Microscopic Identification of Asbestos and
Related Minerals; Indoor Air Quality - Advanced Fungal Spore
Identification; and Indoor Air Quality - Microscopy of Dust Spores
and Pollen.
